Hey guys!

Just to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of my wonderful friends for your constant support, messages and comments! Means the world to me! God bless you all.

As you've probably gathered, I've had to stay away from MySpace to work on my degree, which has been a great, but pretty intense experience, so I must apologise for such a long absence! Whilst I'm not quite done yet, I'm a bit more free to return to MySpace and resume all the wonderful conversations I've enjoyed having with all of the amazing people I've met on there!

Once I'm completely free, I hope to start recording some more music, and have lots of other ideas that I'd like to work on, so hope to get this all back up and running as normal, again! I'll keep you posted!

In the meantime, I've been recording some cover videos of various hit songs, and have uploaded the guitar-ised versions to my YouTube channel:

I'd be super grateful if you could head on over there, and watch some of them! Some of them star my little cockatiel, Cheeky (see the Mariah Carey video for some laughs, and to see me try and talk to a camera for the first time!), so they should amuse you, as well! :-)

I'm trying hard to establish on YouTube as well, so I'd be so grateful if you would subscribe if you have an account - you can message and comment me on there, just like MySpace, so I should be able to respond.

If you have a Facebook account, I'd be super grateful if you'd "like" my Facebook music page - just getting started with that!

What else... Twitter! Anyone who has twitter out there, I'm on there too, so please feel free to follow me on @AdamLeeGuitar, and I'll follow you back! :-) I'm looking at Tumblr next, when I get my head around it! :-)

Aside from that, I would like to sincerely thank you for embarking on this massive musical journey with me - I'm just about to get started, and for all that I have achieved so far, I have YOU to thank! So thank you x1000000!

'Surrender' - New Track!

Hey guys,

Thought I’d give you an update. It’s been a while since any new music has emerged from me - here’s my next offering. A track entitled ‘Surrender’. A clip is given, on the right - the full track can be purchased from Amazon.

This one’s very different from my usual - I thought I needed a rockier track to add to the repertoire, so here’s what I came up with. It’s still got my usual melodic episodes, although it’s a bit more edgy, overall. I truly hope you enjoy it.

To break it down, it took me far longer than usual, but I hope it’s worth it. :-) Additionally, apart from a Hammond organ, the bass and drums, all sound you hear are guitars. All the strange sounds - be it choppy chords or filtered tapping lines - it’s all guitar. I thought it might be a fun challenge, and it was (for me, at least), allowing me to push my usual boundaries, playing and production-wise. :-)

I truly hope I’ve succeeded in conveying a teeny bit of what I felt across to you guys, as this sort of felt like a huge liberation, musically, to play, record and mix.

Finally, I must thank YOU for listening and reading this. It is for all my wonderful MySpace friends that I continue to write and record music, so thank you for your unwavering support and interest. That means more to me than it’s possible to depict in a blog entry.

Number 1, TrackTesting Charts

Hey guys,

Just to say a big thank you to all my friends, on MySpace, and tracktesting, for honoring me with the number 1 and number 7 spots in the Rock charts, and for giving me the number 1 spot for most voted track. That meant the world to me. It’s my first entry into any charts, and although it’s not the official music billboard, it means a great deal to me.

God bless everyone for their endless support, and for voting my tracks into the top 10 Rock charts. That really does mean everything.

Cover of ‘Europa’ by Santana

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd do another Santana cover, seeing as he is my favorite guitarist in the world. :-) I've had lots of encouragement and requests from my many wonderful friends on MySpace, to put up a cover of 'Europa'. This is easily one of my favorite instrumental pieces of all time. Santana is so expressive with the guitar, it almost gives his music another dimension, which is scarcely seen elsewhere.

Anyway . . . I'll just say it's been years since I last played this, and I thought I'd do some of my own improvising in places, to make it sound a tad different. I cannot even come close to meeting Carlos' genius on this piece, but here's my attempt, nonetheless. :-)

Michael Jackson - My Humble Tribute

Hi guys,

Along with countless others, I'm truly saddened by the passing of Michael Jackson. He was an amazing talent, and an incredible person. I grew up listening to him, and have always been, and remain an avid fan of his music.

Here's my humble offering in memory of probably the greatest musician ever. I've just added some guitar lines to his song 'Whatever Happens', from his 2001 release, 'Invincible'. The song features the guitar mastery of Carlos Santana, so forgive the clashing solos at certain points! I don't even come close to Carlos' sheer genius on this track, but I tried to offer my own emotional interpretation of the song. :-)

I hope you enjoy listening to it, as much as I enjoyed playing it.

Rest in peace, dear Michael.

Michael Jackson

Dear all,

As if this needs any introduction. On June 25th 2009, the world lost one of the greatest musical legends, and a truly wonderful human being. Michael was cherished at a level that few people can comprehend. This is perhaps the biggest loss that musicians, fans and those who love humanity could ever experience - on a global level. May all our prayers and thoughts be with Michael and his family, friends and fans.

Doubtless, Michael’s endless success, unrivaled talent and musicianship, and the legacy he left, will go down in history as being one of the most remarkable achievements of any human being. Michael was inspirational for more than just his God-given gift, however. His charity work, love for humanity and all God’s creation was inspirational. He was selfless in what he gave to the world. His loss has deeply saddened and touched the lives of countless people across the world. Let’s take the time to celebrate the life of one of the best musicians the world has, and probably will ever see.

The many controversies and false accusations thrown at Michael throughout his life, have been heartbreaking. Only now that he has passed, have the endless truths begun surfacing. May he rest in peace.

Michael - you have deeply moved me, since a very young age: collecting all the albums, diligently watching all TV appearances and aired concerts. I never got the privilege to see him live, only glimpsing him upon brief visits to London and Paris. Michael remains one of my most cherished musicians, whose music has played a huge part in my life and childhood, as it has countless others.

May God bless you, Michael, and open the doors of His Mercy for you, in the hereafter. Rest in peace. Your memory stays safe in our hearts.

Adam Lee - Kara Johnstad's Essence Radio Show

I just wanted to tell you about a wonderful friend of mine, Kara Johnstad, playing my music on her excellent radio show, entitled ‘The Essence’.

For those of you who don’t know, Kara is an extraordinarily talented singer and songwriter, who can sing just about anything. She’s a particularly gifted Jazz performer, and you can catch many of her tracks on the Apple iTunes store, and see her performing at some of the most prestigious Jazz clubs, around the world - there are many film clips of these performances on YouTube, etc.

New Track - 'Dawn'

Hey guys,

I thought I’d share a new track with you. I’ve named it ‘Dawn’, as that’s what it reminded me of. It took longer than usual to record, but the results are hopefully worth it. I’d be so honored if you’d take a listen - the full version is up on MySpace (at the time of writing), and there’ll be a clip going up on the music page of this site.
